Canine First Aid Training

Learn how to deal with a canine emergency...

Gain the Canine First Responder certification that is recognised worldwide.

The Canine First Responder Course is the only course approved by emergency first response, the fastest growing worldwide certification agency first aid and CPR training. Our instructor has been trained and certified by the MJ first Aid Training centre who are the only centre authorised to issue this globally recognised canine first responder certificate. Our instructor is also an APDT UK certified dog trainer and has extensive experience handling and working with dogs.

At Dog Training Ireland we emphasis the importance of ongoing training and study for our staff. We believe it is important that dog owners and those working with dogs have the necessary tools to deal with as many eventualities as possible. Therefore we are delighted to be able to offer you this Certified Canine First Aid course. Our Canine First Responder Instructors have been trained and certified as Instructors.

The Canine First Responder Course follows the same protocols vets would use if they were first on the scene of a canine emergency, so you will be safe in the knowledge that you have done exactly what the vet would have done, if he were on the scene first. Too aid your learning, we use audio visual aids along with experienced trainers in a comfortable environment. We also have the help of CasPeR, the latest Canine CPR manikin.

The course covers the following and more:
  • Effective use of barriers such as gloves and face shields
  • Safe scene assessment
  • Primary Assessment
  • Canine CPR and rescue breathing
  • Spinal Injury Management
  • Control of serious bleeding
  • Shock Management
  • Splinting for broken limbs
  • Choking Management
  • And more

This course will give you the tools you need to be prepared should that medical emergency arise with your beloved pet. Once you have completed The Canine First Responder Course you will be issued with a wall certificate valid for two years. (All good first aid courses should be refreshed every two years to keep up with protocol changes and keep your skills up to date.)

This course is only done with a maximum of 12 participants as we feel it is important that you receive appropriate one to one. This course is run at our Ballycoolin Training Centre which provides a professional comfortable environment for you to learn in.

The Canine First Response (CFR) is a worldwide certification agency for First Aid and CPR. This course is the only one approved by Canine First Response.
